2010 OSCARS Best/ Worst Dressed

This year was a very interesting RED CARPET. A lot of architectural designs and horrible hair styles with tons of fly-a-ways.

BEST DRESSED:
#1 Sandra Bullock in Marchesa. Stunning from head to toe!! I wish her red lipstick had a bit more depth to it. Its too piny for a red. I can't say enough good things about Sandra. I love her soooo much! Her speech was divine. She has class and beauty while telling a joke. ie: "Meryl Streep is my lover". I think we would be best friends if we ever met. We are both quirky, funny and easy on the eyes:) This Oscar is long over due and I hope it brings her better roles and more success!

#2 Kristen Stewart is radiant in a strapless navy Monique Lhuillier gown. Kristen can you please learn to smile! Your gorgeous and all that but your anxiety ridden body language and clearing your throat during your speech on stage isn't working for me. Why don't you just come out of the closet and tell the world your a lesbian. Can't wait to see you in "The Runaways" as Joan Jet.

#3 Penelope Cruz, glamorous in Donna Karen Couture. The deep ruby dress is beautiful on her skin-tone. She needs a little bit darker lip color. Its too close to her skin color, if there was gloss added to that color it would have been great. What is up with the hair styles in this award show. Everyone had fly-a-ways. Don't these hair dressers know how to use hairspray!
#4 Jennifer Lopez in Giorgio Armani Prive. I toggled back and forth for this one. First I hated it but then I love it, and then I hated it again. After watching E! best/worst dressed, I changed my mind again to loving it. I like the architectural design. I do think the side action part could of been a little less. I would like to see that booty a little more. J-Lo was having a hard time walking in it. When its hard for you to walk in the dress because you have to carry it, you know it is no bueno, J-Lo. BTW... this is Lady Gaga's Grammy's dress by the same designer. Again, her hair is gross. Fly-a-ways everywhere. If your getting paid $5000-$6000 to do J-Lo's hair you better use some damn product!

WORST DRESSED:#1 Mariah Carey: The girl can sing and act, BUT boy she can't dress. Please Mariah tone it done and get yourself a good stylist. STOP dressing yourself. You were so great in Precious, let your talent and beauty speak for itself, NOT your boobs!
#2 Charlize Theron: Oh how I love Charlize. What a beautiful woman!! I can't seem to notice her face because I keep staring at her boobs!!. YUCK, I hate this dress. I can't even tell you anything about her makeup and hair.#3 Zoe Saldana: AGAIN a stunningly beautiful woman. Her hair and makeup look fabulous. The top of the dress is gorgeous and could carry the entire look, BUT it failed as it continued down. I would of loved to see it continue to form her body until below the hip and slowly flare out. Now I would of love to see Zoe wear Vera Farmiga's dress. The fuchsia pink color would of looked amazing on her skin-tone and her youth could of pulled off those ruffles.

Don't they know they should check with me before walking down the red carpet?!

OTHER COMMENTS:
I really loved Nicole Richie's makeup and hair. It really complimented her personality and dress.Miley Cyrus: GREAT MAKEUP! But on the wrong girl. She is way to young to wear this look. Honestly I can't stand her, she is always doing too much with her looks. She is only 17yrs old, barley legal. Doesn't she have a new hot boyfriend? I forecast she is pregnant by 2011.
Vera Farmiga: Easy on the botox girl! I was confused when I saw her on the red carpet...was it Helen Mirren?! She is such a beautiful woman. This is a perfect example of what NOT to do. From hair to makeup to wardrobe someone's got some firing to do! I love the dress, but NOT on her. This dress is screaming youth and high fashion. Unfortunately, it just makes Vera look older. Can you believe she is my age, 36. She needs something simple, elegant, and sleek. She needs to ask Sandra who her dermatologist is because Sandra looks fabulous. Ladies DON'T over due the botox...it looks great when you just put a little here and there. Vera call me and I'll make you look FANTABULOUS!!

The Best & Worst of 52nd Grammy Awards

Best Rock Princess:
From head to toe LADY GAGA is the winner of ROCK PRINCESS!! But, what's up with having more then one outfit during the ceremony? Maybe she couldn't sit down with this dress?

Pink looked like a rock princess in this gown. Just enough class mixed with a little Rock & Roll. Love the hair and makeup was perfect for her skintone.

Rihanna looked fabulous. I think her eye lashes were too long but you could only tell in the close up shot.

Even though I can't stand
Miley Cyrus and her music, I really like her short dress and makeup. Normally I hate the way she dresses. I bumped into her one time at the Beverly Center last year and she was a spoiled teen with too much money. Anyways, her hair is long and gorgeous and her makeup was almost perfect! Her lips could of been a shade darker. I love a pale lip but this was too pale.

Best Country Diva:

Taylor Swift was so vintage in this deep blue gown. I love the hair, makeup, and shoulder exposed gown! Her makeup was amazing! Perfect for her age, she could give lessons to Miley. Her singing wasn't so great on the show. HOPEFULLY, it was just the sound guy or she was having a OFF night. Sorry Taylor, love you!

From American Idol to Country Diva,
Carrie Underwood was stunning. Her dress was almost perfect. The right shoulder there was too much going on, but the concept was great. Her hair and makeup was beautiful. I always love her makeup!

Worst Dressed:
I'm really disappointed in Jennifer Lopez. I normally love her look. Her makeup artist Scott Barnes is one of my favorites artists. But, he disappointed me tonight. Her dress didn't fit right and her makeup looked like a really bad drag queen. Her curves were just not WORKING this dress. Ouch!

Beyonce
was another disappointment. Both her dresses were horrible. Big shoulder pads work on Lady GaGa but NOT Beyonce. The pale nude dress was the wrong color for her. The pattern was all over the place and not flattering at all.

I love Adam Lambert and that he wears makeup, but I hated his tie and he had on too much eye makeup.

Best Performanc
es:
Lady Gaga is the best performance artist in the world! She is the definition of performance ART. Even if you don't like her you can appreciate her talent. She rocks! She has no fear in makeup, fashion, or expression. I'm speechless.

Pink showed us she is a classy rock and roll star. She really stepped it up a notch. She has grown so much in her career. I'm so proud of her...I knew her as Alecia back in Atlanta, GA. I was sitting in a room full of lesbians and when she took off her white gown, we all screamed like teen girls screaming for JT. Then someone said: "That's a skin fabric suite". We all settled down.

Beyonce used to be the best performance at the Grammy's in past years, but this year she lost it to Lady GaGa. Not to worry Beyonce you still were HOT, HOT, HOT. She can work the catwalk. I love the flip of your hair and sultry stare. I really like that way she mashed up her song with Alanis Morrissette.

Food Allergies

Did you know that food allergies can break out your skin? Actually it can do a lot more: eczema, psoriasis, rash, acne, yeast infections, joint and muscle pain, dry scalp, bloating, and much more!

So if you can't figure out why you keep breaking out you might want to make an appointment with an Allergist or a natural-path MD. They will perform a blood test and a skin prick test. I've had it done and found out I'm extremely allergic to yeast and wheat. Now my diet consist mainly of whole foods: Oats, brown rice, quinoa, fruits, vegetables, fish, chicken, and turkey. When ever possible I try to buy only organic foods.

My Daily Food Journal:
Breakfast: Flaxseed Oatmeal, 2 eggs, greens OR protein shake
Lunch: I don't normally eat because I'm not hungry but if I am I eat a salad or a wrap
Dinner: I have recently been cooking a lot. My new favorite website is BigOven.com.
1) Turkey meat sauce and rice pasta
2) Turkey stuffed peppers
3) Tofu stirfry
4) Rice mac N cheese mixed with veggies

Keep that in mind the next time you put something in your mouth, you might be allergic to it!

Remember to post your question. I want to hear what is on your mind.

much love, Jill:)

Tip of the Day: Sunblock in Foundation

Are you one of those girls who doesn't like to wear sunblock? Either you don't like the way it feels or your favorite moisturizer doesn't have sunblock in it.

Well have no fear, you can wear a foundation with an added sunblock. Most brands now make a foundation with sunblock added. Make sure it has at least SPF 15 or more, to be effective.

Jack & Jill Cosmetics makes a Shea Butter foundation stick with SPF 18. Shea Butter is a natural fat extracted from the seed of the African Shea tree. Shea butter has natural anti-inflammatory properties and is an effective treatment for the following conditions: fading scars, eczema, burns, rashes, dry skin, dark spots, stretchmarks, and wrinkles.

This amazing foundation can be made to your perfect consistency. If you need medium coverage just add stick straight on your skin and blend. If you like sheer to light coverage you can mix with your favorite moisturizer and blend.

Remember the #1 way to STOP the signs of aging is to wear sunblock.

much love, Jill:)

Tip of the Day: Never too busy

Busy women can wear makeup too! If you don't wear anything at all please DON'T walk out of the house without sunblock and some sort of mineral makeup. The sunblock should protect against both UVA & UVB rays. Make sure your sunblock says: broad spectrum.

Apply mineral powder or liquid makeup right on top. Finish with mascara and lip balm and your out the door in 15 minutes. It's never to late to start changing your skin and looking beautiful!!

Yes, I am wearing sunblock, moisturizer, mineral powder, mascara, and lip balm in this picture.

much love, Jill:)

WELCOME!

Hi Everyone,

I'm so excited to be starting my very first BLOG! I wanted to start this blog for several reasons.

1. to provide an open forum for all women to be able to ask me questions about makeup. Makeup application, technique, and product questions. Feel free to ask me anything.

2. To document my feelings and thoughts about my life working in the makeup and skincare business. I'm not a professional writer by any means so please forgive me if I ramble on and on. Enjoy my sarcastic sense of humor and honest straight forward opinions. So please, ask me anything!!

much love, Jill:)
